Literary Elements & Other Definitions for Literature --> A & B:
1. Ab Ovo --> Latin for "from the egg" which alludes to the practice of beginning a narrative (poetic or other) at the earliest possible chronological point
2. Acrostic --> the first letter of each line of a poem spells a word which may be read vertically
3. Acts --> the large units that dramas are divided into
4. Allegory --> the expression of truths or generalizations about human conduct or experience using symbolic fictional figures and action (characters have symbolic meaning)
5. Alliteration --> the repetition of initial consonant sounds
