1. Elegiac --> style of poem lamenting the death of a hero
2. Elegy --> a poem that mourns the death of someone
3. English/Shakespearean Sonnet --> sonnet which consists of three quatrains (four-line stanzas) and a couplet (two-line stanza), usually rhyming abab, cdcd, efef, gg
4. End Rhyme --> rhyme that occurs at the end of lines of poetry
5. Epic Hero --> a hero who embodies the goals and virtues of the country
6. Epic Poetry --> a long poem that tells the story of a hero
7. Epic Simile (Homeric Simile) --> an elaborate comparison of unlike objects, does not necessarily use "like" or "as" (The Odyssey is an example)
